While waiting for my turn at Fuku-Taro's restaurant, I quickly grabbed some yakiniku sticks.
This restaurant is located within an arcade, just 1.2 minutes' walk from Fuku-Taro. The name is "Tsurukatsu Hōtan Honban".
A restaurant that welcomes all visitors, with a large signboard, boasting of its spacious area and welcoming a large number of customers.
Of course, we didn’t make any reservations, so we just showed up without advance planning. But as expected, it was a weekend night, and people kept coming in, filling up the seats in no time. So this is definitely a popular place. The signboard is quite noticeable, so there must be quite a few people who come here just to pass the time.
In recent times, there is no sense of any shortage of staff. The recruitment and operation processes are flawless, with seamless coordination between the kitchen and the dining hall. Time flows without any stress whatsoever.
I sat down at a counter table, and it was quite nice to be able to watch a young staff member frying the jyanjyan cha in front of me.
Fascinating cucumber, seasoned with garlic
For now, the first item is this refreshing combination.
It's just the usual taste of a typical izakaya. At 495 yen, it's definitely a bit lacking in quality.
Sashimi
On the other hand, the fried dishes are not as expensive as one might expect.
It's reasonable, but I know of restaurants in Tokyo that are even cheaper. So it can be said to have tourist-friendly prices.
Among these dishes, the tulips are particularly impressive. They use curry powder for their seasoning, giving them a spicy and delicious taste. They pair well with sauces, but they are also very tasty when eaten plain.
The fabric is tightly fitted but thin, and it's quite fine in texture.
I expected it to be much more greasy than I imagined, so it was surprising that it was actually quite light. If you don’t think about it too much, it seems like a delicious skewered dish.
The side dishes are set at a somewhat expensive price, so it's best to focus solely on eating the yakiniku.
Those who are in my same situation, you might want to give it a try.
Thank you very much for your hospitality.
