Six Mitsukoshi French, THEMOON
We moved to Roppongi Hills, and went to the restaurant THEMOON, which is on the same floor as the observation deck.
Actually, I had to take a sudden break from my usual schedule. The night before, I was looking for a restaurant to book a table, but it seemed that no restaurant would allow reservations. I was almost giving up when, early that morning, I searched on Yumello and found this restaurant right away.
Ascending to the observation deck
The restaurant counter is located in the back of the 3rd floor, just like when you purchase an entrance ticket to the observation deck using the elevator. Upon informing them that I had made a reservation for a restaurant, they handed me a card necessary for using the elevator.
If you show this card to the staff at the elevator entrance, you can use the elevator even without a ticket for the observation deck.
The view is outstanding
Entering the restaurant, Tokyo Tower stood majestically in front of me.
Indeed, being on the 52nd floor, the view is truly exceptional.
The seat was at the window on the north side, so I could easily see the direction of Tokyo Station.
Since it's on the north side, you can also see the direction of Shinjuku.
The lunch options are available in three courses: 2,900 yen, 4,000 yen, and 6,000 yen. I chose the 4,000 yen course.
The toast was served with sparkling grape juice—I've forgotten the name of the brand.
By the way, while I was checking the menu, I looked at Yublog. There was a coupon on Yublog, offering a free glass of Welcam Champagne on weekdays.
Unfortunately, we'll just ignore it (laugh).
Open kitchen
First, it's a dish where Camembert cheese is sandwiched between slices of bread.
The plates are extremely thin and long, which is really stylish, isn’t it? (Laughter.)

Next to be served is bread.
This bread was simply incredible, really delicious.
I haven't asked for a refill, but I wonder whether it was actually made or not… (laugh)
The butter looks like this.
Yes, just like the butter knives, the cutlery used in this restaurant was basically made of Made in Portugal cast iron.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was also very pleasant, making it a great place to be.
By the way, the main meat dish was served with a single knife.
Appetizer 1
Next, the appetizers: foie gras, pistachio oil, brânhamanje, and rutaběr.
This was dangerous.
I was asked to mix them together. No matter which combination I chose, a complex blend of flavors filled my mouth. In short, I could only say “delicious”.
Completely defeated.
Appetizers 2
And the second course is a minced piece of Tasmanian salmon.
The black rice is cooked to a state where it resembles a wrapper, and we are served with broken hot spring eggs.
This was also quite dangerous.
It’s cooked in a medium-rare manner. However, despite being salmon, it gives a strange feeling, as if I’m eating something completely different from what I expected.
The aroma of the roasted black rice added to the deliciousness, making it truly delicious.
Meat dishes
And the main meat dish is a Barolo from Aichi Prefecture, produced in Kōchi Prefecture.
Honestly, it didn’t have the same impact as the appetizers, but this dish was equally exquisite.
Dessert
The dessert was served on plates, consisting of apple sorbet, vanilla smoothie, and jellied watermelon.
The waiter appeared with liquid nitrogen. He used liquid nitrogen to freeze olive oil and fresh ginger, turning them into a powdery texture for use as toppings.
The powdered olive oil had a strange taste, but it was, as expected, delicious.
You really think carefully, don't you? (Laughter.)
Japanese Tea
After eating, enjoy Japanese tea.
It seems to be tea from Miyazaki. It can be considered Japanese tea, or more specifically, it is a type of black tea.
They brought it in pots, so I was able to enjoy my meal leisurely.
Chairs and desks
By the way, the chairs were made by Miyazaki Chair Manufacturing's DC09 model.
Even though the seat is made of wood, you won’t feel any pain in your butt even after sitting for a long time. Just touching it makes it clear that the craftsmanship is excellent. It’s a truly amazing chair.
I was curious, so I checked the price. And there were prices that were quite surprising!
The table is a simple leather-bound wooden structure that matches the chairs perfectly. I couldn’t tell where it came from, but it was a beautiful table.
Summary
I think it’s a very convenient option to use during lunchtime, and it offers excellent value for money.
It’s expensive at night, but it might be a good choice for a competitive date.
