Saturday noon.
I have a middle school daughter who is involved in extracurricular activities. After those activities, I plan to go to the middle school and bring my wife and middle school daughter along to eat lunch.
So, my daughter decided to go to this restaurant. It’s the one mentioned below.
“Wakashi Tontukan Anzu”, Harada Store. This is my visit after four months since last time.

My wife and daughter suggested ordering Roasted Chicken with Curry (small, 1848 yen incl. tax). However, I had been interested in curry since my previous visit, so I decided to go for Hakata Black Curry with the restaurant's own sauce, along with Roasted Chicken toppings (1870 yen, same tax).
After waiting for a while while placing orders, the items each requested were served one by one.
The curry I ordered from this restaurant—Kuro-Kareri from Hakata—I took a small spoonful of the sauce and rice to taste... Oh, the spices really have an impact! As I continued to eat it little by little, sweat started to break out on my forehead, and my tongue became tingling. This is quite unpleasant. (^^;)
And then, tonkatsu. The crispy batter on the outside, and the meat inside that crumbles easily with a spoon. There’s also some fat included, but still, it’s a kind of “good fat” that doesn’t cause discomfort in the stomach. It has a rich flavor too.
The kareeru side gradually became more tolerable as I continued eating it. I began to perceive a deeper flavor and a rich umami taste.
And the miso soup that came with it was a miso soup with scallops. The inside of the scallop shells was filled tightly with scallop meat.
In addition to this black curry, there is also a regular curry available. Both are homemade. However, compared to the other curry options on the menu, these two varieties of curry don’t stand out much. Moreover, the black curry has a rather spicy flavor that varies from person to person. It seems that the restaurant places a lot of effort into this product.
For me, who prefers curry that is moderately spicy, this type of curry sometimes makes me want to eat it.

Recently, my first-grade daughter had her school entrance ceremony.
The couple attended the event together, and after the explanations for each class were completed, they finally left. It was already noon, so we thought it would be nice to have lunch first.
So, the restaurant we came to is “Wakashi Tonkatsu Anzu” Hara-kan.
“和心とんかつあんず”は、福岡近郊や首都圏、さらには海外(台湾など)にも展開している。このグループ内には、肉の直売所なども存在する。以前、「肉の日」に宮崎牛の弁当を調達した東区松島の“あんずの直売所”もその一例だ。
And this time, I came to “Wakashi Tonkatsu Anju”. The main child in our family, who is in the first grade of middle school, said she wanted to eat tonkatsu. So, I decided to try to find a place that serves it.
I personally felt that, rather than eating tonkatsu at the source restaurant, I wanted to have something like katsudon. Although there is no katsudon on the menu of this "ananzu," there does exist a dish called "Rōsukatsudōban" which features rostokatsu seared with eggs. It comes with a salad and costs 2,068 yen including tax. So, I decided to have that instead.
The bride chose "New Potato Meatball Katsu Set" (1958 yen, including taxes), and the middle daughter chose "Jerusalem Chicken Roast Katsu Set" (1958 yen, same price).
All salads are served together in large bowls, with portions for three people. The dressing options include two types of sauces, along with olive oil and salt for additional seasoning.
After waiting for a while, the roe chicken and hot pot set arrived as shown in the photo. It was extremely hot—the dish was boiling and steaming. The rice options included white rice and black rice; I chose black rice.
Just as expected, the rost katsu is tied together with daisi and eggs. I try to eat it piece by piece, placing it on black rice. The rost katsu has a thick texture, and yet it’s just the right hardness for a satisfying bite. When eaten with daisi that has stained onto the skin, it tastes really good. Really, this flavor was something I missed terribly. (^^;)
Recently, due to the high price of eggs, the taste of this dish has become distant from what it used to be. So, this time's roe cutlet meal was really a hit.
Next time, perhaps I should try the Loose Cuts Curry (1650 yen, including taxes)… This turned out to be my next “best alternative”. (^^;
