The owner of "Denki Chosō" (now Meisho Pochi) became independent and opened a retro-style tavern in Kyoto, near Honkō-ji.
“はっ”と描かれた赤い暖簾が目印、京町家をリノベーションした店内は、昭和歌謡が絶えず流れ、レトロな雰囲気に溢れています。
On the first floor, there are table seats and counter seats. On the second floor, there are also seating areas, but if you remove the barriers, it can be used for group banquets as well.
The seating areas on the first floor and the counters near the entrance are great places to enjoy the "Kohyakuri," a famous dish. It's highly recommended!

■Grilled bonito (1,680 yen)
After enjoying the live-style kamabako, I tasted the bonito kamabako. The flavor of the kamabako was enhanced by the fat from the bonito, making it an exquisite dish. The bonito was cut into thick slices, allowing the umami to spread throughout my mouth.
■ Handmade Tofu (800 yen)
In this renowned restaurant, handmade fresh homemade tofu offers a creamy texture. Simply seasoned with salt, it enhances the flavor of soybeans.
■サーモンのレアカツ (980円)
The rare katsu, which is fried with a quick sear on the surface using a barbecue method, is definitely satisfying to eat.
■ハイボール(550円)
The whisky "Peak", produced by the same distillery as Japanese sake and ryūzen (Kitayamaisho Shuzo in Gifu), has a refreshing taste.
A menu structure that is convenient for eating, drinking, and as a place to rest—a great feature.
This is another highly recommended restaurant for future New Year's parties and similar events!
