I’m not sure when I’m writing this review. It’s a review of a night in midsummer… (It sounds fancy, but it’s just a simple truth.)
I stayed until night to watch the Metzah Fireworks from Mumin Valley Park. I intended to dine inside the park, but the restaurant I wanted was fully booked (if you want a place where you can enjoy the fireworks while eating, it usually comes with a fee). As usual, my planning is really lacking...
That day, fireworks were being held either in Park or in the Nordic area outside of Park, at Metzabridge. It seemed more beneficial for customers to visit the place where fireworks were held, as the organizers at Metzabridge informed me that their fireworks were larger in scale. So, I left Mumin Valley Park and walked towards Metzabridge.
The restaurants we visited for lunch were all extremely crowded (the supposed relaxed atmosphere at noon turned out to be a lie, with long queues everywhere). So we headed back to the area on Park Street, where there are places like Starbucks. That’s where our restaurant is located.
This was also lined up in a queue, but the arrangement was more orderly compared to the various restaurants we saw earlier.
That day, the heat was unbearable, but since there was a long queue inside the restaurant where one could wait, I took it for granted.
The signs indicating that bread-based dishes (such as hot dogs) were already sold out were displayed outside the restaurant. However, my main goal was to get rice-based or curry-based dishes, so I didn’t pay much attention to that.
However, as we waited in line, the items were sold off one after another. When our turn finally came, we found that all of the main dishes had been sold out. The reason for having fewer people waiting was simply that there wasn’t any menu items left that we could order.
Since there was a "ぐるぐるポテトフライ" that was originally intended for children, I decided to order this instead.
First, during the ordering and payment process, since the eat-in seats are located at the back, we take a seat and wait. Once the items are ready, we are called to pick them up.
The number of seats isn’t that large, but since there’s nothing to eat, the eat-in areas are naturally empty. (Laugh)
The key potato products are shaped like so-called "tornado potatoes". Since they are fresh from frying, they are definitely delicious.
And it is served in ARABIA’s utensils, so in that sense, it feels better to choose the option of “eat in” rather than “take out”. ^^ However, the way I took photos wasn’t good, and the important utensils weren’t captured in the pictures ^^; It seems like I was too hot and couldn’t think clearly.
It’s a decent price, but the quantity isn’t very large. Normally, it would be a pleasant amount for me, but since it’s still three people’s dinner, we finished eating it in no time.
It was very good to wait in a cool restaurant right near the venue during the time left until the fireworks display began. (There was also cold drink available as a self-service option.)
The curry looked quite beautiful in the photo, resembling a spiced curry (since the plate was from Arabia). So, I really wanted to try the curry. It would be helpful if they could provide a few more servings during events…!
That day wasn’t either the first day of fireworks or a special weekend. It’s unclear whether the number of visitors was actually higher than expected, or if this is how it always is on fireworks days.
Thanks to that, I felt a bit unsteady (even though it was a tropical night and the temperature dropped significantly, still around 35℃). The fireworks were beautiful, and our restaurant had a lovely interior, making it a comfortable place to stay. So, I think I’ll try to visit again next year… haha (I’m a man who likes fireworks.)
By the way, the tableware used at ARABIA is a Finnish brand, so it's related to Nordic culture.
This restaurant, along with Metza, offers a truly wonderful worldview. In this current climate, watching fireworks is just the perfect experience. We would also like to consider hosting autumn fireworks!
