This is a sushi restaurant located between Komagome Station and Ryoriyuen Garden.
It seems that the restaurant has been in operation for about 50 years, and it has a quite impressive appearance.
The interior of the restaurant is a small establishment with eight counter seats and three seats in the back. The space is cluttered with various decorations. Since it’s a sushi restaurant, they don’t handle oil very often, which means the equipment is old but not unhygienic. However, both the exterior and interior design are so extreme that even ordinary people might find it intimidating. For me, compared to famous restaurants in Kawasaki or Tsūmei, this isn’t a major issue.
Behind it, you can also see the residential area. It seems to be a store that serves as both a residence and a shop, giving a sense of the atmosphere characteristic of the period of rapid economic growth.
The lunch menu only includes seafood chiri (800 yen). The service includes onigiri as a side dish. It means that there is also miso soup included with the meal.
What was given to me is,
■シーフードチャリシャ(800円)
When you place an order, tea, a dish called "Ogi-Ogi", and a bowl of soy sauce are provided.
The tea is a powdery tea typical of a sushi restaurant.
This is a restaurant review. The points that are mentioned immediately raise doubts. The ingredients include fried tofu, mizuna, wakame, and other vegetables, but the sauce is not delicious. Compared to other sushi shops, this one lacks a proper sauce.
The main seafood platter is filled to the point where it seems like more will overflow from the dish. For this price, it’s quite luxurious.
Particularly good is the shrimp. This preparation is clearly homemade. Moreover, it’s large shrimp, with meat that extends all the way from the shell, allowing for consumption even before it’s peeled off. Just looking at the opened section reveals the quality of the ingredients and the skill behind the preparation. Instead of dividing the shrimp into two separate parts, there’s also a small amount of meat in the middle. Inside this, you can find immature eggs.
The sauce is also homemade, and both the vinegar and sweetness are mild. Personally, I expected a stronger acidity, as is typical of this restaurant. But this place is quite surprising.
まぐろには、3切れも入っています。握り用にサクを整える際に切り落とした部分は分かりますが、形状は確かに切り落とされています。しかし、肉の質は非常に良く、筋が一切入っていません。
The eggs, of course, were baked in the restaurant. They aren’t too sweet, just right.
In addition to thick-cuttered octopus, squid, white fish, salmon, and other seafood, there was also a large amount of canpeo placed beneath the seafood ingredients. It was delicately seasoned with a light flavor, so even if there was a generous portion, it wouldn’t be a hindrance.
The wasaibia is a mixed variety; the garli seems to be ready-made material. However, the other ingredients are generally high-quality products sourced from within the store.
The shari has a mild taste, with neither vinegar nor sweetness. It doesn’t stand out much in terms of flavor, but since the sushi itself is generally solid and satisfying, it would be better if the shari also had more presence in the dish. For the same reason, it’s even more delicious when a generous amount of soy sauce is added.
At this price for lunch, they can offer such quality food. The atmosphere and balance of the flavors in the restaurant may be somewhat challenging to handle, but that's within the realm of individual preferences. A good way to enjoy it is to have sashimi with alcohol in the evening, so that you can enjoy high-quality sushi as well.
