Recently, there have been more and more excellent restaurants in Tsukimasa that are suitable for dates. One of the pioneering establishments in this area is "Shellman".
The location is within 2 to 3 minutes of walking from Tsukimi Station. In the middle of Monjya Street, you will find a white gate. The lively interior has 27 seats, consisting of counters and tables.
In the glass cases are arranged ingredients such as shellfish, crabs, and shrimp.
Recently discovered a sparkling drink from Kido that I often drink.
First, let's toast with bubbles.
For first-time visitors, a menu with courses is recommended. On this day, following the restaurant's suggestion, I decided to enjoy various dishes paired with Japanese sake!
First to appear was the oysters.
We will enjoy a mousse of tomatoes combined with sliced tomatoes.
The shrimp here seems to be called “Kuma-Ebi”. I’m not sure if I’ve heard of it before!
This dish is cooked at a low temperature, allowing for slow cooking. As a result, it becomes extremely tender and moist. The crisp exterior and sweet taste make it truly delicious.
Of course, I will choose Japanese sake. I would like to enjoy a Ténmei.
And, let's enjoy fresh Etsu shrimp here!
luxurious combination includes the aforementioned Etsai shrimp, scallop, red shellfish, and abalone.
この伊勢海老はまだ生きており、とても新鮮です!
鮮やかで美しい赤貝。
The alcohol keeps flowing.
Next up is this!
So beautiful a crab. This is simply unbearable...
The crab, which is extremely sweet and creamy, becomes even more delicious when a little lemon juice is squeezed over it to add a tangy flavor. Of course, it can be enjoyed as a perfect accompaniment to alcohol in its raw form.
White fish with ponzu sauce and liver. There's no way that Japanese sake won't take effect here.
Additionally, there are salmon ham and tempura vegetables.
The introduction of these extremely rare delicacies really raises the excitement. It's all stuff I've never had before.
Additionally, I was served some truly unique sake. This is also a masterpiece that is quite rare to encounter.
The dining table is set with cooked rice from a pot.
Inside there are tuna and ikura!
And the remaining Etofu was served as a delicious side dish, in the form of miso soup. This was a delightful service.
The rice is also topped with perfect crispy crumbs, making it a truly complete meal.
Anyway, this is a famous restaurant that is definitely worth visiting for those who love crustaceans. I visited Hatsu for the first time in about three years, and it seemed like it had improved compared to before!
This is a restaurant suitable for casual business gatherings as well as dates. Thank you for your hospitality.

As I'm on my way back from work, I sometimes stop here for a casual meal.
Well, Mentoji is a city that is already famous for its mentoji restaurants. But now, a new, excellent restaurant has opened up there! I really liked this place, so I’d like to introduce it to you.
「Shellman」という、カニやエビ、殻を専門とする割烹料理店です。
In the very center of Monjya Street, there's such a stylish exterior building.
Step through the warm curtain into the interior of the restaurant.
The restaurant has a clean and calm atmosphere. There are about 7 tables on the counter.
Behind the counter, there was a small table.
It’s separated by doors, so it’s also suitable for those who handle hospitality tasks.
The counter is spacious and comfortable, and the chairs are also large in size.
In the glass cases, there are countless shells!
All of them look delicious…
The cuisine is available only for a menu costing 5,800 yen.
After 9 p.m., there is a "late-night set meal" available, where you can enjoy a set meal costing 2,600 yen.
On that day, I ordered a course costing 5,800 yen.
And what's interesting is this sake pairing feature. You can add it to your meal for just 1,500 yen.
The chef, after considering the menu, chooses a Japanese sake that will complement the dishes.
Of course, we also have a variety of alcoholic beverages other than Japanese sake. But here, we truly hope that you will enjoy Japanese sake the most!
First, the first drink starts with a nigeru.
We will enjoy it in a cute glass.
And, here is the menu of the dishes.
Upon closer inspection, there are some menu items that leave me puzzled... These will be something for you to enjoy later.
The term that appeared as "とりあえず" was, to be honest, a crab!
“Koshin-cho’s Japanese crab” has slender bodies, but it has a rich and delicious flavor.
I squeeze a little lemon to enjoy its sourness together with the other flavors.
Next, a wooden box appeared.
When I opened the lid, there were four delicacies inside.
The stewed clams are served with changja made from clams produced in Kure Kombu-mori.
Using stuffed clams in Chanjia is quite rare, isn’t it? It’s quite spicy, but it also has plenty of flavor inside.
Salt-cured live crab, stewed clams.
I was completely satisfied with the assortment of alcoholic drinks that kept me engaged throughout the meal.
Next is this sake.
The accompanying dish has a strange name: "An age that suits both a hat and a cane."
It's a dish made with pollock fish marinated in whisky. The name of the dish is derived from a man wearing a hat and a cane, depicted on the bottle of whisky. w
Below the price tag lies steamed oysters. Due to the fact that these oysters have shrunk and become wrinkled, it can be inferred that...
It seems that they aim to create an image of "お歳". What a ridiculous pun!
But the taste is quite solid. On top of the oysters and kushiyaki are iburi kakko.
This serves as an accent to the delicious texture and taste of the food.
The oysters are cut into pieces, so I will receive them along with the appropriate amount of salt.
The rich flavor is truly outstanding!
In addition to the cuisine, they serve a variety of Japanese sake to match the dishes. So even if you are not familiar with sake, you don’t have to worry.
続いてのお食事は、「祝海と畑」という料理です。また、変わった名前の料理です。
It's a celebration of joy and happiness, reflecting the golden mackerel that sits on top.
And, the dish features a sauce made from fruits and tomatoes, served alongside golden mackerel. Truly, a perfect combination of sea and land flavors.
Japanese sake was served one after another.
Next, the dishes in the bowl section are "Eryu Nukufuku". Can you figure out how to pronounce this?
The answer is, “Ebizo.” It’s a tea bowl steamed dish that features a generous presentation of eggplant.
The shrimp served is fried shrimp.
Please place this item inside the tea bowl steamed dish in the cup, and enjoy it while blending it with the rich sauce of the eggplant.
Under the source, there is a rich tea stew. The aroma of eggplant is extremely pleasant; it's a luxurious dish indeed.
The dishes are "fish that have been properly prepared."
Gradually, I became accustomed to making jingles as well.
This term refers to the use of Semolina flour as a coating in Italy.
This is a fritter made with wakasagi. The green sauce that covers it is made with Nishikyō miso.
The texture of the semolina, with its crisp bite, pairs perfectly with the texture of the watercress egg.
The stew is called "Pak Pot."
On top of it is plenty of parsley.
Under that coriander, there is something that was cooked with octopus in red and white wine.
A dish that features parsley as if it were a pot… interesting.
The dish that was served as a "yaki" was called "Kimkimu".
I was asked by the staff at the restaurant, "Do you know how to read this?" But I didn’t know how to answer.
The correct answer seems to be “sugi” according to the information provided. It refers to three trees, all of which are sugi. It’s quite hard to understand sometimes… w
On the smoked pine boards, there is a simple dish: steam-fried crab, rolled with beef, and topped with clouded amber.
Under the crab are hidden sweet potato pieces. I like this moist texture as well.
A little wakame. The simplicity makes it delicious.
そして最後に、食事です。
At the back of the counter, a pot has been prepared...
The meal can be chosen from either of the two options that one prefers.
One is, Kama-iru.
A bowl of rice with plenty of shellfish, vegetables such as leeks and carrots, and a gentle flavor.
This is a single portion, but it has quite a large amount of content!
And another item is a special variety.
Handmade Pasta and Soba prepared in a special way.
It may look like plain rice, but it is actually a genuine pasta.
Indeed, it has a more chewy texture compared to oshimaki.
Please wear this on your wrist.
MandeliaやGingerもお好みでどうぞ。
The homemade pickles include various alternative ingredients such as clams.
I also ordered a miso soup containing large clams. This is really delicious—it really hits the spot!
Since it's still in the process of being opened, there were almost no customers there.
This place is bound to become popular, isn't it?
The chef was also extremely gentle in his manner, and he carefully explained the dishes, using clever puns to make them more interesting.
Above all, the sake is delicious. And the cuisine is also excellent.
Since it's close to home, it's a restaurant I really want to visit regularly.
I will come again. Thank you very much!
