Edo-Kawabashi is located at the border between Shinjuku-ku and Bunkyo-ku. It's a place with a relatively casual atmosphere, where there are Italian and Spanish restaurants. During lunch hours, it's suitable for office workers. At night, it's a popular spot for locals to gather and enjoy drinks in cozy bars.
The name of the restaurant, “PRONTI VIA”, is an Italian phrase meaning “Ready, Go!” or “Preparation complete!”. It is a term used as a signal to signify the start of something, such as the beginning of a game or a race.
The text "ARRIBA!" is written in Spanish, which means something like "Long live!" or "Cheers!" or "Get up!" as a way of expressing encouragement.
In other words, when combined together, it seems like a restaurant name with a rather cheerful and lively meaning, something like “Let's have an easy and enjoyable meal↑”.
This is my first visit. Indeed, during European football seasons and the World Cup, I have noticed that the restaurant is often bustling with activity inside. It seems to be a popular spot for football enthusiasts in the neighborhood.
A single woman who didn’t have the slightest interest in soccer thought, “It might be a bit difficult to approach.” However, that day was one of those once-a-year occasions when she really wanted to eat some amazing pasta—specifically, a meaty bolognese pasta!!
I earnestly sought a bonne poire that wasn’t frozen in the kitchen or produced by a central kitchen. I wandered through the bustling streets under the scorching sun, hoping to find such a dish cooked with a pot and finished with a frying pan.
The lunchtime deal-priced pasta set offered two different options. However, it was also possible to order from the main menu. So, I chose Bolonese (there it is!).
Normally, salads, foccaccia, and desserts are considered side dishes for lunchtime meals. It is not expected to be served as main courses for diners who prefer individual dishes.
At the last moment of lunchtime, a woman rushed in completely soaked with sweat. It was strange that there was only one customer who insisted on ordering the Bolognese dish with such strong determination. We were able to enjoy a fulfilling lunchtime with this honest Bolognese dish, along with complementary items.
