I would like to serve delicious spring rolls as the main dish, so for today, I'll opt for an à la carte menu...
The kitchen is staffed by two people: the head chef and a young man who assists him. The food is prepared by a woman of proper age in the hall. Basically, the cooking is done solely by the head chef.
Bottle beer (medium) ¥680 Today was also a hot day, so it felt like it would seep into my throat.
Please serve this homemade sesame tofu (probably around ¥330). The sesame flavor is very strong and it's delicious.
First, enjoy a healthy salad for today: Eggplant and Ham Salad, ¥950. The vegetables include fried shiitake mushrooms, zucchini, watercress, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. It is flavored with an original Chinese dressing, which delivers a great taste. The zucchini is cooked in olive oil, which adds a delicious touch. Crushed nuts and sesame seeds also contribute significantly to the dish's flavor.
Personal favorite: Eel and Shallot Spring Rolls ¥616. Today’s order. If you eat it within 5 minutes of being served, you might get burned by the heat—so be careful. Upon tasting it, the aroma of eel and shallots is overwhelming. Indeed, this is what it means to have a delicious dish.
Takoyaki ¥880: Four pieces of bonito fish, garnished with a variety of seasonings including茗荷、green onions, garlic, and chives. The combination of the bonito fish and the sauce is truly excellent. In a Chinese restaurant, bonito fish is personally very valuable to me.
Yakitoro (Black Sugar) – Chōun Monibashi. So-daregari – ¥680. This is the perfect choice for yakitoro to drink in summer.
Grilled dumplings ¥800. Served with lemon juice, making them refreshing and enjoyable to eat. The filling has a strong flavor, and the dumplings are large enough to be satisfyingly enjoyed.
Yakiniku (wheat) by Sora. Soda-cut. ¥680. Its light aroma is perfect for summer.
Special Mench Katsu ¥330 This dish is as delicious as the Japanese cuisine desserts from the previous restaurant. It truly lives up to expectations.
Black Cider Pork Bun ¥940
The black cider filling is mild yet has a rich texture, making it delicious. The vegetables are also well-cooked, with excellent texture and color. The large piece of red meat pork is so tender that it can be cut with chopsticks. It’s like a masterpiece that combines the flavors of a traditional Japanese beef stew with Chinese ingredients.
Yakulton (taro) – Solo consumption; soda dilution – ¥620. Definitely a soda dilution version.
I considered ordering noodles or charahan, but decided to stick to hand-made ones due to my stomach condition. It's nice that most of the menu items are under ¥1,000. Still, achieving a complete mastery of dim sum is a long way off.
The total bill was around ¥7,000.

A Chinese restaurant that opened after the closure of the previous "Endoo" restaurant in the area.
I had been interested in this place for a while, but finally decided to visit it for the first time.
The owner was someone I recognized as the chef at "Enoda" restaurant. Even during my first visit, I felt a sense of comfort.
First, I'll drink beer to soothe my throat.
The "otoshi" is a dish made with sesame tofu and crab paste. The crispy texture of the sesame tofu combined with the flavorful crab paste is truly delicious. It's extremely tasty from the very first bite.
The second dish is a stir-fry of kale and asparagus with black pepper and salt. The balance of the pepper's aroma and the umami flavor of the salt is really good.
The third item is a cold dish of green beans, fresh burdock, and Tōru oil-cooked tofu. The burdock has a crisp texture, while the green beans have a pleasant crunchy taste. The tofu is topped with crushed plums, enhancing the flavor. This dish also benefits from the rich umami of the broth.
The fourth item is avocado and smoked salmon spring rolls. The avocado is sweet but not overpowering, while the smoked salmon lacks texture and seems a bit lacking in flavor. It would have been different if it included shrimp, wouldn’t it?
The fifth item is dumplings. This is the authentic Chinese cuisine of a traditional restaurant. Eating them with lemon made it very refreshing and enjoyable.
The sixth item is menchikatsu. This was exactly the flavor I expected from Endou-san’s restaurant. Very satisfied!!
The seventh course is rich fillet stew with abalone. The abalone is of a size that matches its price, and the filling adds extra flavor to the dish, truly reflecting the taste of a renowned restaurant!!
The eighth dish was a rich and tender noodle dish, including both warm and cold versions. However, I preferred the default flavor, so despite the heat, I chose the warm version. The spiciness was moderate, but the sesame flavor was quite impressive. The topping of beef thinly sliced was reminiscent of tempura, adding a nice contrast to the dish. It was delicious.
The ninth dish was a hot pot with filled dough, served in a warm clay pot placed on the counter before filling was added. The presentation was delightful. The taste was excellent; the filling utilized the rich broth well, making it delicious.
Overall, it was a very satisfying experience with Chinese cuisine that captured the essence of traditional Chinese flavors and incorporated Japanese elements in its broth. It was truly a great restaurant.
By the way, the bill was for two people, who drank several drinks of alcohol, and the total cost was around 12,000 yen.
