‘2014/04 再訪’
Today, I went to Saga-no, a fried food restaurant.
I came here because I really wanted to try that delicious fried food with unlimited portion.
Of course, I made a reservation.
On weekends in Kyoto, it's common to find that restaurants are often crowded during lunchtime.
I can't provide a translation for this segment as it contains only Japanese text and does not follow the guidelines for professional restaurant-review translation engines. First of all, let's start with raw beer.
This is a restaurant review from Asahi. The price for Super Dry is 900 yen (including 8% sales tax).
So, let's toast together~!!
Pufaa~, delicious!!
This time, we chose a full-flavored kebab menu for 5,500 yen (including 8% sales tax).
Appetizer: This is today's small dish.
It has a delicate taste that stimulates appetite.
This is a preliminary meal before enjoying delicious fried foods.
This is sashimi of tuna.
This is a dish that appeared last time as well.
The tuna at Hinō is truly delicious.
It's extremely delicious.
This time, I was also completely satisfied from the very beginning.
Let's begin with the fried dishes.
At first, a set number of tempura items are served in order.
From the very beginning, Eggo-chan was already present.
The tension rises.
Because the fried food here is really delicious.
Among them, Etochan is simply outstanding.
After the scheduled course is completed, you can order any ingredients you prefer yourself.
Indeed, I ordered eggplant, as well as tuna and salmon.
Both the tuna and salmon are delicious, aren't they?
I ordered several times.
I was completely satisfied with the delicious teriyaki fried foods.
Once the fried foods are served, the tea bowls with steamed dishes, rice, miso soup, and condiments will be presented.
This is the dessert.
Hmm... I ate, I ate, my stomach is full now.
I was completely satisfied with the delicious tempura.
This time, since it was a holiday, the restaurant was completely packed with customers.
Indeed, on weekends, the restaurant is quite crowded.
It is recommended that reservations be made in advance.
Also, if you really want to try delicious tempura, then don’t come here.
Next time, I would like to enjoy a leisurely meal on a weekday.

“2013/04 방문”
Today, I went to Saga no, a fried food restaurant.
April in Kyoto.
There are a lot of people here, especially during the spring break period, as it's the season of cherry blossoms.
Well, I was really struggling to decide where to have lunch.
Indeed, let's go to Hinol. It should be open there, and we'll be able to relax comfortably.
I walked from Kawaramachi.
Walking down the main street, it's full of people.
This was a journey along a path that I have never walked before; it's a route that requires passing through a backroad.
Along the way, there was a primary school where the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. I came here while enjoying the beautiful cherry trees at the temple.
After taking about 15 minutes to stroll leisurely, we arrived at the Hotel Nikko Princess Kyoto.
Let's enter the hotel, shall we?
ドアボーイさん、いつもありがとうございます。
As soon as they notice customers, they quickly open the door for them.
One word, two words—just say a few things, then enter the venue.
Today, I was planning to go to the Café & Dining Ambercoat on the first floor…
What a surprise, it's almost full.
This is a strategy change, as we can't enjoy our meal at a leisurely pace.
On days like these, I must go to Saga-no for its tempura cuisine.
With that thought, I move to the second floor.
It's been a long time since I've been in Saga.
Sagano can be divided into two categories: "Japanese cuisine" and "tempura kaiseki".
This is the entrance to the restaurant.
A spring-like, Kyoto-like warm gate, indeed.
My stomach feels empty.
Let's enter the restaurant, shall we?
Entering inside, you will find that the front room is the space for Japanese cuisine at Saga no.
And, the warm screen on the right hand side indicates that this is the Tenpura Kaitou Saga no restaurant.
At the reception, I inform them of which direction I came from.
Japanese cuisine seems to have more people than I thought.
It seemed to be a restaurant where groups are often dining.
It's the cherry blossom season, so there must have been many people visiting this place as well.
I am heading towards that teppanyaki restaurant.
Tensurap Kaitou Saga no is a very small restaurant. It has only 11 counter seats.
The counter is located in front of the cooking area, and right there, tempura is fried on the spot.
The interior of the restaurant has a calm atmosphere, making it an ideal place to enjoy a leisurely meal.
On that day, there were only two groups of customers prior to us.
By the middle of the meal, we were taken away to a private area where we could enjoy our meal while talking with the head chef. It was a truly comfortable and pleasant experience.
So, how did you eat and drink?
There are various lunch menus, but two that caught my attention are…
Should we serve a menu where we can enjoy all kinds of spring vegetables and seasonal seafood in fried dishes? The price for this menu is 5,000 yen.
Should we set the order price at 3,900 yen for the fried food lunch set?
So, which one should we choose?
The beverages here include Asahi Super Dry beer, which costs 800 yen.
I always drink here…
And, while I was looking at the menu, there’s German beer available, isn’t there?
It seems to be a sake from Hata Distillery.
・アンバーエール 900円
・ケルシュ 900円
And, I set the price at 900 yen for Kelsch.
A faint fruity aroma and a smooth taste.
This is a German traditional beer that has been passed down in the town of Lehrn.
A clear and refreshing taste that seems to match sashimi and teriyaki dishes perfectly.
The dishes included spring mountain vegetables and seasonal seafood, served in a set menu that allowed me to enjoy all the food for 5,000 yen.
In good health, and with a hungry stomach, I decided to enjoy the delicious tempura to the fullest.
Immediately, the appetizers for today were served.
Pickled wakame enhances appetite.
While eating, I couldn't help but think of the Wasaibin in Kyobashi.
Also, we need to go and try some delicious dishes from Wasabin.
Here is the translated restaurant-review content from Japanese to English:
“The reviews of Wasaibin’s food are available here.”
My first diary entry is here.

Zouli: It's a dish made by stacking fish.
A very delicious tuna was served here.
The color and luster are truly different.
For those who love fish, this is a visual treat that cannot be missed.
The tuna was cut down to a thickness that seemed excessive.
We serve wakame on top of the tuna, with a little soy sauce added to it.
Wow, amazing! The bite and elasticity are completely different from ordinary tuna.
It feels like you can chew it down simply, right?
This is a prime example of fresh tuna—simply outstanding.
After a long time, I ate the best salmon sashimi.
From the very beginning, having delicious food makes me extremely excited.
I was excited when I thought this tuna would be served as tempura.
Once the cooking is completed, preparations for eating tempura begin.
First, the appearance of the seasonings.
You can enjoy matcha salt, plum salt, and other similar products.
Ah, the one on the far left is lemon.
And then, the radish that was added to the soy sauce appeared.
The hot soy sauce was brought over right before the tempura was ready, so that it would stay warm.
That's a little bit of care, isn't it?
What a delightful service.
Here is the translated content for the restaurant review:
Recommended eight dishes to start with.
Our favorite two shrimps and eggplant are now ready to be served.
Wow, it's great that the shrimp has started serving.
That too, both of them, are really exciting.
First, let's just have it as it is, without any pickling.
It's a simple tempura, where the flavor of the ingredients can be fully enjoyed.
The confidence in the ingredients is evident, and it's a feeling of strength that comes across strongly.
Next was, tuna and ikka.
Indeed, the tuna was served, wasn't it?
From the left, there are kogomi, warabi, and satumai.
Now, my recommended list is complete.
From here, begins our feast of springy fried foods.
We can order various items from this restaurant: shrimp, abalone, scallops, sea urchins, salmon, abalone, seaweed, bamboo worms, fuki, kogomi, pumpkins, konjac, eggplants, sweet potatoes, onions, and more. We can order these items multiple times and in quantities as desired.
So, what should we order?
Yes.
Correct answer.
“I can’t believe I heard that voice again.” (Laughter)
That's just natural, it's love for Ela.
Next, please soak yourself thoroughly in the heavenly broth…
Please bring plenty of radishes with us.
Um, it's delicious.
That's excellent.
It's extremely delicious.
Ultimately, it seems that Eggo-chan ate five of them.
I guess I ate the most of it after all.
Then, please, eat it. Please, eat it…
Still, again and again, I beg you, it's just a repetition of eating.
In the end, I ate about 35 of them.
Hmm, it feels like I've eaten... really eaten.
Yes, I've conquered all the varieties. (Laughter)
All the dishes were delicious, but this time the most popular one was the eggplant dish.
Next is the tuna dish.
Indeed, even when fried as tempura, the tuna was extremely delicious.
Then, are they made using holes or some other method?
The freshness of the seafood was truly remarkable.
Among the vegetables, the onions were very crisp and tasted delicious.
Actually, I could have eaten a little more, but I held back and stopped when I had only about 80% of my stomach full.
It’s better to eat until you’re 80% full rather than completely full.
Eating until you're 80% full, and continuing with the next meal later on, is better for both your body and brain. It also leaves a better impression in the future, you know?
Don't be greedy.
It's miso soup.
Actually, here, we serve rice, condiments, and miso soup…
The rice was passed over.
I'm already feeling extremely hungry.
Here, I thought that I couldn't eat rice at all.
It's a water-related item.
It's a dessert after the meal.
Depending on the season, strawberries have appeared.
I really like strawberries, so I'm very happy.
I'm curious about the taste of the strawberry Otaba Daimyō that I bought on this day.
I plan to go for hanami (cherry blossom viewing) after dinner.
Planned to visit Choen-in…
I was talking to the staff at the restaurant, and there has been a change in the schedule.
We decided to walk from Takase River to Nago River and then to Deiyama Yanagi.
I thought it would be just the right time to take the train back home, since the next train was a direct one.
So, let's take a nap on the train, and then have a drink around Kyobashi before returning home.
This is the completed version of "Nice Schedule".
The diary of the cherry blossoms by the Duck River is here.
The diary of the cherry blossoms along the Takase River is here.
The diary at Shioro Bridge during the cherry blossom season is here.
Pinión-kun's diary is here.
When it comes to Shijō Ohashi, the diary of … is here.

Tensupura Kagomiyaki Sano.
Yeah, it was a truly satisfying lunch.
Even though I ate a lot of tempura, I didn’t feel any chest tightness.
It's a blissful feeling of a pleasant fullness in the stomach.
Delicious tempura… It's really important to eat it at a place you can trust, after all.
This time, it was Nihon Kai Airlines who took care of us, so I felt completely at ease while eating.
At the restaurant owned by Japan Airlines, there hasn't been a single instance of a poor meal.
Because it's a reliable airline, Nihon Kōkū.
And, while speaking, I didn’t even mention "Nihon Airways’s restaurant" once, did I?
Well, there were many things that I didn’t have time to write about…
This year, I plan to continue writing, even if it's just a little bit at a time.
Previously, I wrote about an event held at Nihon Hankyu Osaka for the first time.
2013년, 가가와현에서 열린 '사누키 우마이몬 마츠리'가 오사카에서 개최되었습니다.
Various dishes were served.
All dishes were delicious.
确实,感觉就像日航啊。

JAL Princess Kyoto.
Also, thank you very much.
Next, what should we eat?
It's exciting.
