Just 2 minutes' walk from Deiyun City Station. I visited "Sushi Yakinoyu Nihonhai" without a reservation, after 6 p.m. on a weekday.
Upon entering the restaurant, one is greeted by a clean and tidy atmosphere, filled with vitality yet maintaining a calm and comfortable ambiance. Today, I was fortunate enough to be guided to a counter seat.
Let's start with the "Omakase no桶のお造り6点盛り". Fresh fish are displayed here. Each piece is thick, and the fat is well-preserved. The moment you put it in your mouth, the sweetness and umami of the fish spread throughout your taste buds.
続いて提供されたのは「のどぐろの焼物」です。脂がしっかりとついたのどぐろは、表面が香ばしく、中はふっくらとしています。脂の甘みと魚本来の旨味が際立ち、まさに絶品と言えるでしょう。
“新筍の天ぷら”は揚げたてで、衣はサクッとして軽く、筍はみずみずしく甘みがあり、春を感じさせる一品でした。〆には「のどぐろ汁」を注文しました。のどぐろの旨味がしっかりと出ており、飲むたびに体に染み渡るような美味しさで、食事の最後を心地よく締めくくってくれました。
Through the dishes served that day, I felt the meticulous work and skill of the chefs. The sounds of cooking, their graceful movements, and the rhythm with which they cut the fish were all delightful. It’s precisely this atmosphere at the counter where one can truly enjoy the food being prepared right in front of them.
Additionally, I tasted the Junmai cold wine from Izumo. Every bottle of wine matched perfectly with the dishes, enhancing the umami of the fish. It’s truly a blissful time to enjoy local sake while savoring fresh seafood.
Each dish was incredibly delicious, and every meal was of high quality. It was the perfect dinner to fully enjoy a night in Izumo. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience fresh fish and local sake in Izumo.
