Visited around 10:30 am on January 12, 2026.
We stopped for lunch on our way towards Gifu.
Since morning, snow had been falling, and I wondered if the restaurant would be empty today. When I arrived 30 minutes before opening time, I was the first person to enter.
I write my name on the waiting board at the top and wait there.
“Even if you didn’t come so early, it wouldn’t matter,” I said to my wife. Just 10 minutes before the store opened, customers started arriving one after another.
While I waited outside, I was approached to place my order.
I ordered the casual seafood dilled dish with rice (3080 yen), and a large portion of rice (100 yen). My wife ordered the same dish, but with plum sauce (2080 yen).
I was led into the restaurant at exactly 11 o’clock.
We received the order in advance, so the rice bowls arrived quickly.
The staff member explains each topic individually. They are very kind and good.
A small tea bowl is filled with plenty of seafood. It definitely looks appetizing.
When ordering a dunnbori, you can enjoy the soup by yourself. You are also free to drink as much as you want. It comes with raw eggs, seaweeds and shiitake mushrooms for making stock tea, as well as seasonings like aradake and chilies.
Today's whimsical dilled dish (Matsumae) features plum ingredients such as tuna, beef, and blood mixture; also salmon and black sea cod.
+(竹)の具:タイラ貝、マダイ、クロダイ、アカヤガラ、鰻の蒲焼、スズキ
+(Matsushiro)の具材:極みイクラ、ヨシエビ、バイ貝
It will be added.
In the photos, it seems like there is a considerable amount of material available. However, since the bowls are small, the actual amount of material isn’t that much. Only the salmon was quite large.
Since it's seafood, there isn't much need for special cooking techniques. However, the technique used to remove the blood from the salmon was truly impressive. I was amazed at how well the smell of the blood was removed using sesame oil. I couldn't believe there was such a method.
The visual impact is indeed there, but it's precisely because the tea bowl is small that it stands out even more. If placed in a dunkiri, it would look quite inferior. To be honest, I would have preferred it to be a bit more pointed.
What I thought is that the "極みイクラ・ヨシエビ・バイ貝" that comes with the salmon is a bit overpriced—500 yen more than just bamboo. The "極み" label doesn’t seem appropriate for such small sizes of these items. It might have been better if the Yoshi Ebi was eaten raw instead.
I think 2580 yen for bamboo products is within acceptable limits.
The soy sauce was delicious, but the temperature was disappointing. The machine set the temperature to 80 degrees Celsius, but I didn’t notice that much. It was snowing outside, so I would have preferred a slightly hotter temperature for drinking it.
Those who plan to travel from Nagoya towards this restaurant might consider visiting "Yattoo" in the Kita District. It might be more cost-effective there.
Thank you very much for your hospitality.
