Located under the elevated structure in Hibiya, there is the restaurant 【Kusunoyama-ya】. Its excellent accessibility makes it a convenient place to stop, whether you are returning from work or on a shopping trip during holidays. Moreover, its ratings on Yumelog are quite high, and it has even been recognized as a "Hot Restaurant." This is a restaurant that we were eager to visit with high expectations.
First, the yakiniku. This is the main menu item. My impression after tasting it is simply "average". It's definitely not bad, and it meets the standards for a Japanese restaurant. However, there isn't much impact that can be measured by a score. Instead, it leaves an impression of being a "standard yakiniku that is well-presented".
However, this restaurant truly had a star among its offerings. It was “Dashi Maki Egg.” It surpassed even the performance of “Yakitori” in terms of quality, standing proudly as the main attraction. With its fluffy texture and rich umami from the broth, it was so good that one couldn’t help but order it alongside the Dashi Maki Egg. The ham cheese dish was also delicious and served as a casual, enjoyable addition to the meal.
In terms of customer service, the staff are mostly foreigners. Their language is polite, and they handle matters smoothly. However, the interior environment is quite hot. Since there are multiple grills in operation, even with the fan running at full capacity, it’s still difficult to keep people from sweating. This might be too harsh for men who prefer a cooler environment. Honestly, it’s not recommended for those who seek comfort.
Overall, the restaurant has good accessibility and decent customer service. The dish "daishomaki egg" is outstanding, and the rest of the dishes are also well-prepared. Therefore, I can understand why its current rating is 3.3 points.
If the expectations are not set too high and adjustments are made accordingly, it would be a very comfortable and enjoyable izakaya.
