This is a restaurant we entered during a meeting.
I had reserved a seat only, but upon arriving at the restaurant, I was forced to decide on the menu not at the seats themselves, but in front of the counter.
It includes both the menu of dishes and the menu of beverages.
It's a very spacious restaurant, and since it's within walking distance of the Yashaka Shrine, it attracts many foreign tourists who visit Japan.
Since it's a restaurant with a menu centered around pots and pans, I found it strange that they were checking the orders at the entrance to ensure that each tourist made one order each.
Even after completing the order, you won’t be guided to your seat for a while.
After waiting for about 10 minutes, I was led to a private room.
This time, I ordered three servings of shibu shibu. When I was led to my seat, the set was already ready: a mixed vegetable dish and rice served in a tea bowl.
The meat was brought over immediately, but the pot used for shabushabu is filled with water (the fire isn't lit).
I experienced for the first time a service where rice prepared in bowls is provided before guests take their seats.
It took about 10 minutes to be able to enjoy the shibushi-bu. However, I was very disappointed that there was no concern for the possibility of the rice becoming cold, or for those who are drinking alcohol needing to eat their rice later on.
I ordered three types of shabushabu meat: Kansai beef, black cattle beef, and domestic beef.
Most people don’t say it, but…
The service, including the meat itself, was truly disappointing due to its lack of care and attention to detail.
I am very concerned that foreign tourists who have come to Japan may be disappointed after visiting this restaurant.
