This is a barbecue restaurant located right next to the elevator entrance of Waseda Station. I came here on my own business today, and now that my errand is completed, I decided to have lunch at a restaurant around Waseda Station before returning home. Since I didn’t pick any good restaurants from Yumelog in advance, I headed towards a place where there were many restaurants. That’s where I came across this restaurant. It was after 12:30 on a holiday day, so the first floor of the restaurant was almost full with families. Fortunately, there was only one table left that hadn’t been occupied by customers yet. I waited at the entrance until the staff finished cleaning up, and then I was guided to that table.
Immediately, upon examining the lunch menu, I saw items such as Matsuri Lunch (900 yen), Hodori Lunch (900 yen), Harami Lunch (900 yen), Pork Toro Lunch (750 yen), Bibinba Lunch (950 yen), Wagyu Steak Lunch (1600 yen), Wagyu Karbi Lunch (1600 yen), and extra rice options (small: 200 yen, regular: 250 yen). Additionally, there was Sengo Beer (lunch service: 580 yen). All lunch items came with a large serving of rice. After some consideration, I decided to order the Matsuri Lunch, which was prominently featured on the menu as “the most popular dish in Waseda”. By the way, the Matsuri Lunch included a large portion of karbi, along with onions, kimchi, rice, and soup.
The expected special lunch was served in just 2 minutes after the order was placed. The main karaage served on a large plate consisted of 9 pieces of karaage. It definitely seemed appetizing. First, 3 pieces of karaage and onions were placed on the roasting pan and started to roast. While the karaage was roasting, I ate rice as a side dish and drank soup. The taste was quite satisfactory. After that, I tried eating the roasted karaage with sauce. It turned out to be softer than I expected. However, the taste was not as good as I hoped; the meat didn’t have much umami flavor. Despite the large portion of karaage, I was satisfied with the amount. The price was under 1000 yen, so it’s understandable that they are trying hard to make this a successful business. The lunch service lasts until 5 p.m., which is quite reasonable. If you’re interested, please give it a try.
