A colleague who came from Kanto to help us has wanted to try delicious sashimi in Kyushu, so they found this restaurant.
The sashimi photos I saw online looked delicious.
I have just arrived in Fukuoka, but there was a restaurant that I'm not very familiar with.
I went there by train, along with other colleagues from different jobs.
I arrived at the restaurant around 7:15 PM.
The exterior doesn’t really stand out much, huh...
If you don't pay attention, it seems like you might just pass by without noticing.
The building also looks old.
On the counter seats on the first floor of the restaurant, there were many customers.
After passing through the first floor, I was led to a private room on the second floor.
For now, since we are two people, we will toast with fresh beer and wait for the arrival of our other colleagues from the same work team.
This is a restaurant known for its sashimi. Naturally, we ordered mainly sashimi.
While eating, my colleagues gathered together to enjoy the meal in a lively and enjoyable manner.
The photos were taken of two items: Genkai Akōsaki and Gomasaba.
Kanai Akō Suki
It's refreshing, and the fat content is high, making it delicious.
It has a decent bite to it.
I heard from a colleague who is well-versed in fish, that it was a deep-sea fish.
It seems that this dish is not commonly available in Kanto region.
If my memory is correct, it was probably the first time I tasted it.
ゴマサバ
The soy sauce flavor has a slightly sweet taste; it seems to be from Kyushu.
Delicious.
The salmon is also fresh.
Although no photos were taken, the shrimp caught with a Shimana-jiru or Isaki-jiru was fresh and delicious.
However, I would like to express my apologies to the staff at the restaurant. Instead of using the soy sauce from Kyushu that was placed on the table, we had to use the soy sauce made from ground soybeans that our colleagues brought along.
Since most of me and my colleagues were born and raised in Kanto, it feels strange to think that sashimi should be made with a sauce from Kyushu.
It might take some time for them to get used to it...
Additionally, yuzen tempura is also available at this restaurant.
It was also available at the izakaya near Hakata Station that I visited a few days ago.
Is it a major restaurant in Kyushu?
This time, I did not place any orders.
From there on, I continued to drink it switched to a high-ball.
Finally, we were served tea-nabako topped with mochi.
It seems that the service was provided after a short period of time, and the rice was so damp from smoking that it became soggy and tasted unpleasant.
It was a bit disappointing.
I was allowed to finish eating with some leeway.
I was surprised by the high quality of the restaurant, which was beyond what one could imagine just from its exterior appearance.
I would like to order more of those other menus that I couldn't order this time.
On my way back, I passed behind the counter seats on the first floor. There were cases filled with fresh fish displayed there.
It seems that dining at the counter would be a better option to enjoy the food more flavorfully.
This time, I was treated to a meal by some of my work colleagues.
I don't quite understand the amount, but it seems that the total cost for 5 people exceeded 20,000 yen.
The sashimi was fresh and delicious, so I think the price is well worth it.
After that, just get used to the soy sauce from Kyushu.
To return home, we left the restaurant right after finishing our meal.
