Late lunch at Yokohama Chinatown!
Fukumaeen is located in Yokohama Chinatown. It has three branches: the main store, the new building, and the annex. All three branches specialize in Sichuan cuisine!
However, the main restaurant specializes in Sichuan cuisine and Fujian cuisine; the new branch focuses on Sichuan cuisine and Shanghai cuisine; while the separate branch offers Sichuan cuisine and Hunan cuisine, each with its own unique characteristics!
Buy a meal coupon on the coupon website, then call the restaurant to make a reservation!

① Three-course Combination
First, the classic Chinese menu items: jellyfish, fried chicken, and steamed chicken!
② Abalone and abalone mushroom braised in oyster sauce
This segment contains a translation of restaurant-review content from Japanese to English. The requested target language must be followed strictly, with
③ Beijing Duck
Cracked skin, green onions, and sweet soy sauce are wrapped in crepes (kaoyapi) and presented!
It's tempting to want to order more, but each course is limited to one item per person...
④海鲜什锦饭
⑤フカヒレ入り蒸し餃子
Two types of dim sum are offered here. The seafood shumai features a chewy texture with a strong seafood flavor, truly outstanding!
⑥ Large Ebi Chili Sauce
The sweetness is minimal, while the pungency of chili peppers is emphasized!
Large and creamy shrimp, intertwined with other ingredients!
⑦スープに海鮮とフカヒレが入っています。
A simple broth with a moderate saltiness, accompanied by a lightly seasoned pepper...
Smallly chopped eel and shrimp have been extracted, giving a rich horse-like flavor!
⑧ Sichuan Mapo Tofu
This pork rib stew served with the intense spiciness of authentic Sichuan cuisine, is characterized by the powerful麻辣 flavor created by Sichuan peppercorns and Huashan pepper.
I serve it with soup and water to help alleviate the taste. But once you get used to it, not only does it have a strong flavor, but it also has a rich texture!
⑨ 명물! 흑차하나
This is a famous fried rice from Shanghai, a major rice-producing area. It has a rich flavor achieved through thick soy sauce and a rich base of ingredients. So, opinions may vary depending on personal taste...
⑩杏仁豆腐
The almond tofu has a moderate sweetness and a refreshing taste. Even I, who usually leave some leftovers, managed to finish it completely!
It also reduces the spiciness of mapo tofu.
Eating just this much should make you full...
The special menu I purchased with the coupon was, as the name of the restaurant suggests, blissful and satisfying!

At Yokohama Chinatown, an early lunch time... The destination was Fumaren's new building, where you can enjoy Sichuan cuisine and Shanghai cuisine simultaneously!
Located at the Y-shaped intersection in front of the Rose Hotel (formerly Holiday Inn), this distinctive triangular, narrow storefront is a characteristic feature!
First, what I ordered was the "Sweet and Sour Small Pork Cutlet"!! A delicious dish where the boneless pork cutlet is cooked with tofu, and the sourness of soy sauce and black vinegar creates a wonderful combination. At first, I tried to eat it with chopsticks... but it was quite difficult!
The attentive staff member brought a salve and said, "Please eat it with your hands without worrying about anything," which was really nice!
Well, today's target is this Mapo Tofu... The spiciness of authentic Sichuan cuisine is captured in the slogan. The staff repeatedly asked, "Is it too spicy? Can you handle it?" Being a fan of spicy food, I prefer it that way. Welcome!! This "Chen Mapo Tofu" is named after Chen, the originator of Mapo Tofu in Sichuan Province.
For me, this level of spiciness isn’t as extreme as “highly spicy”—it does produce sweat, but it’s still quite intense!
Not just spicy, but also a rich mutton tofu that makes rice taste even better. The saltiness is quite strong, so it's great to enjoy with rice.
And, three cups of water provided by the waiter at the dinghata!! It was a substantial portion of heavy-grade food that two people couldn’t easily finish. It would be better if it were shared among three to four people...
I really wanted to try these dumplings, so I decided to go to "Yushan Yuanjiaozi", a restaurant recommended by the staff, as there was no such place where I could eat them in Japan. I expected the amount of dim sum to be small, but this dish is a generous portion of fried dumplings, with 8 pieces and plenty of spicy sauce on top!!
This dish isn’t spicy, but it has a rich flavor reminiscent of chili sauce. The dumplings themselves are also well-seasoned, so they complement the rice perfectly. It’s a super premium-level dish… delicious, but my stomach can’t take it anymore!
Today, I was faced with a menu that was a bit challenging. I ended up not being able to get my favorite dish, the charhan. It's a bit of a disappointment...
无论多么能吃,料理终究还是要均衡地食用才是正确的做法——这是我的反思……
Fumaeen, with its three branches in Yokohama Chinatown, offers Sichuan cuisine as the main highlight at all of its restaurants.
Each of the restaurants not only offers Sichuan cuisine, but also features unique dishes that meet different needs. At the new branch, you can enjoy Shanghai cuisine; at the main branch, Fujian cuisine; and in the separate branch, Hunan cuisine. It's great that you can choose which restaurant to visit based on your mood that day!!
