Saturday at 14 o’clock. It’s right near Shin-Okubo Station, but this street has a strange, foreign-like atmosphere. The store signs are quite eye-catching, but where exactly is the entrance? Well, it seems like there’s only one possible entrance here. Still, the feeling of a mixed-use building is quite intense. The stairs… oh, the fluorescent lights on the stairs keep going out and coming back on again. It feels like a ghostly building. Isn’t this a kind of performance? (゚д゚) Hah! This could be used as decorations for next year’s Halloween event!
As I climbed up to the second floor, I could hear the lively conversations from the bar. I thought there might be a full house, but in fact, there were no empty seats at all. The background music was ethnic music... It sounded like Nepali or Indian music.
The order was for a C-set costing 850 yen. I chose the Mutton Curry as my choice of curry, and for drinks, I ordered Lassi. When I asked the waiter if I could have Mango Lassi, my brother replied, "Sure, why not?" So, I decided to go for Mango Lassi.
It took no longer than expected for the items to arrive. First, I ate the rice... Although it doesn’t look like Japanese rice, its texture is completely reminiscent of Japanese rice. It feels like standard Japanese rice. Not bad at all.
Dalka curry… It was quite spicy… About on the verge of being extremely spicy.
Mutton curry… it’s a bit strong, but it was quite good. However, the meat had a strong, unpleasant taste and aroma. Actually, it would have been better if yogurt was included… Yogurt is included in the 1300-yen Momo rice set. But for those who don’t drink beer, this set might seem expensive. So, let’s just make do with it. But eventually, I guess I got used to it… It turned out to be an extremely delicious curry soup. The condition of the mutton was not great today; it felt dry and crunchy. Maybe that’s just the timing…
The braised mustard greens also had a unique taste that seemed to amplify the spiciness of the mustard greens themselves. It wasn’t bad at all.
The mango lassi was absolutely outstanding. It’s no surprise that my brother highly recommends it.
マトンカレーの癖も慣れてしまえば全く問題なく、そのまま食べても全然問題ないんですが…やっぱり、ヨーグルトを加える方が良いかもしれませんね。
