Visiting Nakashima to purchase sweets and other offerings for the Obon festival.
Since I need to buy the portion for my family as well as those of both sides of my parents, there are quite a few items. It simply isn’t possible to use the same restaurant for everything. So this is actually a pretty big task.
After running around all morning, before heading to various places for prayers in the afternoon, where should I have lunch?... As soon as I left Moré, this back entrance of the restaurant came into my sight.
Ah, yes, this is where it was. This place is perfect.
It was just after opening hours, but there was only one customer. Further on, five or six more groups followed us, so it seems to be a busy place.
The young woman who came to take the orders was obviously a very young part-time worker.
handing over the menu, said, "Today, we have some delicious sea urchins on the menu. How about you try them?"
“この食材はどの地域のものですか?”と尋ねると、彼はうわずった声で厨房にその質問を伝えに行きました。
Then, a harsh voice came from the kitchen: “Northern Territories!”
I know that she didn’t really yell at me, but somehow...
ウニ丼の価格は約2500円でしたが、夫は「ロシア産なら要らない」と言ってマグロ丼を注文しました。
I ordered the same grilled fish set meal as last time.
While waiting, there were continuous loud metallic sounds coming from the kitchen, as if pots were being smashed against each other.
Master, did something unpleasant happen to you?
そして、運ばれてきた焼き魚の定食。
Last time it was trout, but this time it’s brook? Or trout again… It seems like a rather weak dish artistically. The thickness of each piece is about 6 millimeters! It’s really impressive that the chefs can cook such thin pieces. I think I wouldn’t be able to hold onto these thin pieces and serve them on a skewer. Ah, there must be special skewers for that purpose.
(((ロ(. . )m φ(`д´))
The taste was extremely disappointing.
Tea is really useful!
After eating, I used the restroom to wash my hands. The restroom is very clean.
My husband’s monjary-don also seemed to be priced poorly, not worth the money.
The cashier was also a very young man. But the receipt... what is this? It shows 21:54, but in reality, it's around 12:15.
Since my first visit, I had a good impression of this restaurant, but there were still many things that felt disappointing.

Every time I passed by, I couldn't help but be interested in it, but I never got the chance to eat because the timing didn't match.
The entrance on the side with the parking lot (side of Shanchang Street) has a certain charm.
At the end of the year, I somehow managed to make it to lunch.
It has been two months since I left the draft unfinished. I'm sorry about that.
3組の先客がいました。全員、中年から高年の夫婦でした。(苦笑)
It seems to be a "store that offers Japanese cuisine such as sashimi and grilled fish," which is a "store that brings joy to middle-aged and older people."
My husband ordered a seasonal sashimi meal for 1200 yen, and I ordered a grilled fish meal for 1000 yen.
It took about 20 minutes for the food to be served, and I was surprised by the abundance of side dishes.
Even the grilled fish meal includes sashimi, stews, salads, tea bowl steamed dishes, pickles, and miso soup. This is a great deal at 1,000 yen.
Moreover, the grilled fish is delicious.
The Kyoto-style miso is neither too sweet nor too salty, and it also contains an appropriate amount of salmon hara's fat.
In the stew, there’s even a whole boiled egg! If it were my sister-in-law, she might eat it for one meal. (Laugh)
The pickled radish skin is crispy and delicious.
The tea bowl steamed food has a salt taste; there is little to no sweetness.
I'm from Hokkaido, so I really prefer tea bowl steamed rice with a bit more sweetness. Isn't that a bit of a selfish request? ^_^;
The miso soup was incredibly salty, which really frustrated me.
It was a very salty dish in Muroran, with an average level of saltiness. I simply couldn’t drink it.
At 1,000 yen for lunch, it might be a bit expensive for "daily dining," but since they are open on weekends as well, it's definitely a recommended choice for "occasional dining."
The interior of the restaurant is also bright and pleasant to be in.
There are also lockers for storing luggage.
It was a pity that the tables were small (two plates filled up the space, leaving no room for placing phones or other items).
It was delicious, so I took my parents there in January.
It was a Sunday night, so there were no customers at all...
“Though I thought it was just a Japanese restaurant, I could also enjoy regular meals at night. However, the menu for the evening hours consisted solely of ○○丼.”
Indeed, it seems to be a izakaya at night.
Last time during the day, I asked if they could prepare the same menu as before. They said they could do it, but with a reduced number of small dishes compared to lunch. So, I ordered grilled fish, boiled fish, and seasonal sashimi.
I thought that the types of fish varied from day to day, but both grilled fish and sashimi were exactly the same as last time.
Perhaps it would be better to consider this as a "Sakishihara-style Western Kyoto grilled fish set meal" rather than just a grilled fish dish.
The cooked fish meal ordered by my parents turned out to be not too sweet after I tasted the sauce. So it seems that even me would be able to enjoy it without any problems. (^_^)v
However, the tea bowl steamed food this time has a significantly higher salt content compared to last time! It’s so salty that it makes it difficult to eat with chopsticks.
The miso soup was less salty compared to last time, but overall it was still quite salty.
The variation in salt content might be a way of exploring "the salt content that suits the preferences of people from Muroran."
The lunch here is really great, so I really want to go there again.
Just going there twice, and both times with the same content, makes it difficult to attract repeat customers, doesn't it?
In recent years, this was the best restaurant in the city that I've eaten at. I hope you will make great efforts to maintain its quality.
I haven't been writing restaurant reviews for a while, so I'm a bit confused. But why can't we evaluate the reviews both during the day and at night at the same time? One post per evaluation? If we eat twice, do we have to post two times? That's quite troublesome.
