Located right near the Akasaka Mitsuke Station, “Kuzukiyaki Totto Shigure” is a restaurant where you can enjoy a comfortable and private dining experience in individual rooms. The interior is a blend of Japanese and modern styles, creating a tranquil atmosphere that makes it seem almost out of a station setting. This time, I ordered five dishes: hard-boiled eggs, fried chicken, fried potatoes, grilled vegetables, and tomato slaw.
First, the pickled cucumbers that I received were finely cut, giving them a very refreshing texture. The fragrant sesame oil and moderate saltiness enhanced the freshness of the cucumbers, while the white ginger added a crisp touch to the dish. It was truly a perfect starter dish for those who crave sake. The fried chicken, from its appearance, was already enticing. Its crispy skin and fluffy, juicy interior complemented the sweet and sour sauce perfectly. The scattered ginger added balance in terms of aroma and texture.
The fried potatoes are thin and crispy, with a juicy interior. While they’re still warm, we immediately drizzle them with plenty of ketchup. Once that’s done, there’s no stopping ourselves from eating them. The sliced meats offer two different flavors: one with the rich umami of meat, and the other with the crisp texture of shrimp. The steam and aroma of the steamed food stimulate our appetite, and every bite reveals the sweetness of the ingredients. The last dish we tasted, tomato slices, brought a refreshing sweetness and acidity that cleared the taste in our mouths. The dressing, with its fresh green onion aroma and subtle tang, provided a simple yet lingering flavor.
Overall, the level of completion for each dish is very high, and they all complement well with alcohol. It’s a perfect place to enjoy a relaxed meal in a private room without worrying about being seen by others. Ideal for girls' gatherings, dates, or quiet drinking parties. This is a restaurant that combines excellent cuisine, amiable atmosphere, and great location—a place you really want to visit again.
