This is the first eel of the summer, brought by Shimura-san.
Shimura-san not only serves food inside the restaurant but also offers takeout service for eels. You can enjoy delicious eels at home, so we use this service regularly at our home.
The sizes of the takeout long-baked eels are three types: medium (3,363 yen), large (3,780 yen), and extra-large (4,168 yen).
The medium size is equivalent to four pieces at the restaurant, while the large size is equivalent to five pieces. If you order from the restaurant, a 4-piece umana-dou would cost 3,909 yen. As a takeout, it’s just a little cheaper at 500 yen.
This time, we ordered five large long-baked eels for five adults and one child, along with two extra toppings for 150 yen each. When we received the order and checked the size, it seemed like about three-quarters of a large size. For one adult, maybe one medium size would be enough.
As for the taste, the sauce was quite rich, which I really enjoyed. Some people might find that without the extra toppings, they can still enjoy the eel fully. (In fact, we didn’t use all the extra toppings.) The cooking level was excellent for a Paris Soft-Flavor eel. The contrast between the fragrant skin and the soft texture of the meat was really appealing!
Thank you for your order. ❤️
