“After more than 10 years, back to a traditional Japanese restaurant.”
Due to work-related reasons, I had the privilege of staying in Nagoya for seven days. During that time, I visited six top-rated restaurants specializing in grilled meat. Laughing.
【Restaurant's Atmosphere】
This is a traditional restaurant that has been in operation for 16 years (it operated for 19 years before moving). It has a sophisticated atmosphere reminiscent of a teahouse, rather than a typical barbecue restaurant. It’s not the kind of place where new customers would just stumble upon by chance. On the contrary, the interior is more casual, with tables being the main seating options, with a few counters available. The space inside is clean and tidy, with thorough maintenance.

【Restaurant Review Content】
The authenticity of the "material-based direct confrontation" style of Niu Ting remains intact (^^)
The menu items remain unchanged in terms of price. We order mainly thick-cut dishes.
The tuna is odorless, and its soft texture makes it excellent.
In terms of taste, it can be described as somewhat mild, if not bland. The impact of the umami flavor would be desirable, but considering its softness, it’s still acceptable.
The karrubi and loos are as fatty as they look.
At Niu Ting, there is no dressing available. The meat is cooked using a semi-circular iron plate instead of a griddle. The sauce used is either "lemon soy sauce" or salt. Additionally, traditional recipes involve adding garlic and radish juice according to preference.
The salad is ordinary, nothing special...
However, the final dish of sesame rice with perilla and seaweed was a must-try. It served as a perfect conclusion to the meal with the red broth (^^)

Since there are no price indications on the menu, you might be hesitant. However, including the drink cost, the price per person would probably be around 10,000 to 20,000 yen, right?
In Nagoya, this restaurant can be considered part of the category of high-end grills. It's a place that stands out from ordinary grilling establishments by offering a unique experience with a sense of history. It's a place that delivers small surprises and makes customers happy.
