A reunion dinner with a female colleague from my previous workplace. We were colleagues at the same company, even though we worked in different departments. Our industries are similar, so our friendship has continued over the years. She’s one of the few former colleagues I still keep in touch with.
Her home is in Nakagami-ku, so I suggested calling it "Kosugi". She said she really wanted to go to Mizoguchi. When I asked for the reason, she replied, "I haven’t been there very often." Alright, I really liked that reason! So, let’s give her a chance to find it, I said. And that’s how I decided, as a senior, to encourage her to try hard (laughs).
Although I said I was going to search for it, I myself haven’t really used this place for dining much. It’s a city like Mizoguchi. I felt a bit anxious, but I decided to ask around and book a table at this restaurant.
From JR's Musashigongo-iku Station, it's just 1 minute's walk from the south exit. From Tokyu's Musashigongo-iku Station, it's also about 2 minutes' walk. It's extremely convenient.
Actually, the restaurant is located along the railway line. When you look at the entrance from the side of the railway, you can see the platforms of the Nambu Line! That means that the restaurant is also visible from the platforms. It's a place that appears in my view multiple times… I hadn’t noticed it before.
Upon entering, you will find a counter seat along the kitchen on the right-hand side, and tables for two or four people on the left-hand side. Further back, there are private rooms available. The restaurant can accommodate individuals to groups.
If I look at the menu, I see a drink menu and a food menu, which are typical of a common izakaya. In addition, there are also handwritten recommendations for dishes. I guess there were a couple of items that were out of stock, and I arrived a bit late—around 7:30 p.m.

The brand is Sapporo Black label. The aftertaste is refreshing.
・サーモングレープフルーツソワー(630円:税込み)
The grapefruit was served not after being squeezed by the customer, but in its squeezed state. All that remained was to turn it over and place it into a jug.
Because there was plenty of pulp, the flavor was rich, with both sweetness and sourness that were well-presented.

Today’s dish is pork and vegetable stew.
The broth is quite rich, and because it has settled, the taste becomes absolutely delicious when it melts in your mouth.
・花れ流ポテトサラダ(680円:税込み)
The amount of food was about twice what I had imagined! It was quite surprising.
And, the potatoes are supposed to be crushed by oneself. It's better to keep a slight shape on them, as it makes both the taste and texture more appealing.
The kaiwale that is placed on top provides a crunchy texture and a slight spiciness, making it a great accent point.

From the left, there are a combination of five dishes: abalone, red bonito fillet, snapper, and tuna.
The tuna here is fresh, so it's delicious. The mackerel also had a rich salmon flavor.
Dahua with radish pieces, and kaiware with green onions – no lack of complementary dishes either. It’s really wonderful.

I ordered the menu recommended by "Kan itsubi" today.
“To relax before eating,” said the staff member. So, I thought only the body would be served, but to find that the scabbard was turned into a plate… really cool! There’s plenty of space for eating, making it a highly satisfying experience.
The crab had a pleasant aroma of the beach, and it had a rich taste.
・Oyster (Service)
“Thank you for coming on weekdays. This is a message from the manager.” That’s how they served us.
It was served as a stew of soy sauce. The shellfish brought with it the aroma of the sea and a rich, savory flavor.
I see, indeed the cuisine is quite elaborate.
The dishes were truly beyond imagination; it was truly impressive! The service was also excellent.
A few days later, a junior colleague sent me a LINE message saying, “I used that restaurant for a dinner party! I really liked it.” I’m glad they appreciated it!
Since we had made reservations, we entered the restaurant smoothly. However, both the table seats and the counter seats were fully occupied. About 30 minutes after we arrived, even the private rooms at the back of the restaurant became full. It seems that this is a popular restaurant, and it’s safer to make reservations before visiting.
