After the sushi restaurant near Ichikawa Station where I worked for many years closed down, Kim-chan opened a store with his own name as the name of the restaurant in Kohei. Now, he is also close to his wife, who is in a wheelchair and requires care at level 5. I went to see Kim-chan. It’s next to the popular Motsukaki restaurant, Daizo, which I often visited with my wife in the past.
Kim-chan uses his skills from the sushi restaurant to sell sushi and fresh fish. I was happy to taste the large boiled clams and thick fried eggs that he specializes in since the old restaurant.
As an appetizer, there was gray shrimp kabayaki. It had a strong flavor and was plenty enough for me to enjoy with alcohol. As for the sashimi, I ordered medium-toro salmon, azukileaf, and thin squid as a set meal. It was delicious. Finally, I got the boiled clams and thick fried eggs that I wanted. All the fish and sashimi were delicious, satisfying both my heart and stomach.
Compared to the izakaya where there seems to be a competition for more menu items, this restaurant doesn’t have as many choices, but it’s a good place where you can enjoy delicious food without any pretentiousness.
I regret not being able to bring my wife to Kim-chan’s new place. But I’ll keep showing her around from time to time and let her envy me by hanging a piece of egg roll as a souvenir.
