I decided to take my junior along for lunch. We were discussing what to eat; should we go to the Fish Steak Restaurant, White Silver House? It seemed a bit crowded there. Suddenly, I thought that if it’s going to be a fish restaurant, it would be better to have delicious fish kintsu. So, the three of us rushed over there.
It was around 11:40 when I was immediately led into the interior of the restaurant. I hesitated about what to order, but decided to choose the same set menu as before: grilled swordfish and bonito from Atoha front coast. I really wanted to eat grilled swordfish again, and this time, it was just as delicious as I had expected. It was also convenient that they served three small dishes along with the main course: wakame, nori, and other ingredients. When I visited Aomori on another occasion, I noticed that the same set menu was served at the hotel's breakfast buffet. The wakame and other ingredients were often served as side dishes. The price was around 1,200 yen. Considering that this restaurant is located in Daishomachi office district, it offers a comfortable semi-private dining area, making it a good value-for-money choice. The location at the basement of the Palce Hotel is actually quite convenient. My juniors also said they would like to try it out. Whether for casual lunches or small gatherings, I plan to use this restaurant in the future.

The night before, I visited this restaurant to celebrate a senior colleague's promotion. We enjoyed fresh fish dishes delivered directly from Hachio and unlimited Japanese sake. If I remember correctly, the sake brand was Uragami Oshiman. It was a beautiful occasion, with a lively conversation taking place in a private room. The sake was sweet but had a sharp taste.
On the other hand, even in such a situation, I couldn’t take photos of the dishes. So, the next day at noon, I decided to go back alone. Along the way, my colleague who happened to be with me on the elevator joined me. We could reach the Palace Building via an underground passage, but it was a bit difficult to find. So, we hurried through the drizzle. Around 11:30, the underground area of the Palace Building’s first floor wasn’t very crowded. We were able to get into the restaurant right away.
When asked about popular dishes, it was said that the sushi-style menu included Bakdun, and the set meal options included Ajsabu. I suddenly felt a strong desire for Ajfli, so I chose the latter option.
This restaurant-review segment describes a luxurious set menu consisting of salt-baked bonito and fried mackerel. The salt-baked bonito is likely air-dried overnight. Its flavor is rich, with firm and crisp flesh, making it unsuitable for those in a hurry. The fried mackerel is plump and crispy, with a fresh taste. It lacks the metallic taste commonly found in fried mackerel dishes, making it quite delicious. The side dishes include kombu, mashed yam, spring greens, salad with shiitake mushrooms, rice, and miso soup. The overall experience was not outstanding, but there were no particularly memorable aspects.
Perhaps the night version is more focused on quality. Still, I want to remember this place as a convenient spot in the office district, where you can enjoy delicious fish dishes for lunch, even though the price is slightly high. It would be great if they had grilled fish like at Yu'an in the Shijō seafood restaurant.
