Visited on a certain weekdays in February 2025, around 7 PM.
Located one minute walk from Osaka Station, on the 16th floor of the South Gate Building, there is a Chinese restaurant called “Rodos”.
The spacious interior gives off a rather bustling atmosphere.
After informing them that I had made a reservation, they led me to a private room. So, four of us sat down at a table.
On that day, I ordered the "Spring Crystal Course" for ¥5,000, with an additional drink service for ¥2,000.
First, let's toast with "Kirin一番搾り" to moisten our throats. It had a stable, mild taste that was truly delightful.
Four types of appetizers: Chinese dishes such as char siu, sea scallop with green onion sauce, boiled egg rolls, and radish egg rolls. The slightly firm char siu has a rich flavor and gives a high-end impression. The combination of sea scallop and green onion sauce is delicious and has a good taste. The egg rolls also have a high-quality feel and are a satisfying appetizer selection.
Aobasa-入りフカヒレスープ:細く切られたフカヒレが味わえるスープですが、この商品は少し生々しい印象があります。あおさの風味はほんのり感じられる程度ですが、フカヒレを感じる部分もいくつかあるため、まだ物足りないと感じました。もう少しフカヒレの食感を楽しめるような提供スタイルで味わいたいです。
Stir-fried scallop and seasonal vegetables: A dish made with large scallops, broccoli, radicchio, paprika, shiitake mushrooms, and green onions. This dish showcases professional cooking skills, and it can be enjoyed with a mild saltiness. The amount of heat applied to the vegetables is just right.
Crab Black Vinegar Sauce: A dish made by combining a black vinegar sauce with fried scallops whose surface becomes crispy. Green onions and other ingredients are also served alongside, making it suitable for a salad-like experience. The black vinegar sauce doesn’t have too strong a sour taste, making it easy to enjoy. It’s recommended to cut the scallops into smaller pieces and pair them with “Suxingjiu” for a delicious meal.
Chen Mapo Tofu: This Chen Mapo Tofu retains the proper shape of tofu. The flavor of mountain pepper is slightly present, but not overpowering, making it easy to consume. The balance between spiciness, umami, and freshness is just right. It also pairs well with Shaoxing wine. The bite of green onions is a pleasant addition.
Egg and Vegetable Chahan: A dish with a just-right crispiness and moisture level, topped with eggs. The rich chahan is well-seasoned to enhance the umami flavor, making it highly satisfying. It pairs nicely with the refreshing "Saké (Lemon)" and provides a satisfying meal in terms of portion size.
杏仁豆腐:最後に杏仁豆腐で締めくくります。缶詰のフルーツを使った、オーソドックスな杏仁豆腐は、まさに王道の味わいです。見た目ほど甘さは控えめなので、男性客にも喜ばれるデザートです。
“ロドス”は個室で、適度なカジュアルさを感じながら中国料理をコースで楽しめるレストランです。飲み放題の時間を間違えたり、ホスピタリティに関しては改善の余地があると思いますが、それでも十分満足の得られる中国料理レストランのディナーでした。
