Today's first goal is to try our second "dajio" at the cafes we visited in Ginza a few days ago. Since it's a café, I plan to have lunch there before that. So, I'm struggling with what to eat in Yurakutown or Ginza.
The location is in the Ginza area. If you feel like it, you can enjoy dishes from not only Japan but also all over the world. On one such occasion, I came across a tandoori chicken restaurant. Images of delicious tandoori chicken from previous experiences popped into my mind. However, there are many excellent tandoori chicken restaurants in my hometown of Yokohama and Kawasaki, as well as in Bunkyo, which is just across the bridge. These thoughts made me consider giving up tandoori chicken for a while.
As I walked forward, I entered an area filled with antenna shops across Japan. However, none of them seemed to offer anything that I really wanted to eat today. Suddenly, I noticed a well-proportioned pig in the distance. I had a feeling that I recognized this pig. Sensing that the pig was signaling for me to approach, I stepped closer.“Yabata Ton”It was a signboard. Yes, it was a restaurant specializing in Nagoya-meat soup.
If it's Yabu Tonto Miso Katsu, then there's no shortage for the customer. In fact, I even feel like I should request it myself. Upon entering and informing the staff that I had no reservation, I was led to the second floor. Inside the store, there were already many customers present. I thought to myself that they must have been drawn to the sign with the "Pig" logo. I sat down at a table.
I looked at the menu. Normally, I would have chosen the “waraji tonkatsu” with a generous portion, but as I mentioned at the beginning, my main goal for today is to enjoy a café experience. So, I ordered roe tonkatsu and dohejiki. After a while, roe tonkatsu and dohejiki were served on the table.
I really want to eat the freshly cooked miso katsu right away, so I grab a bite with my chopsticks without even taking a proper photo. The aroma of miso is simply irresistible. Even though it's just tonkatsu, it's topped with the restaurant's original sauce. Nowadays, eating it with salt from all over the world is also a great pleasure. But this rich and fragrant miso katsu is truly delicious.
Next, take a bite of the doe-nuké. This too is not good. The rich and strong flavor of this dish… it’s like a “rice thief” that steals your appetite. Rice deserves to be served on a plate. When you want a delicious taste with beef, the price can range from several thousand to tens of thousands of yen. But for pork, even if it costs just a thousand yen in Ginza, it’s still the most delicious option.
This miso-tomato-tandoori chicken with rice, and the dohe-jū, when combined together, has become so delicious that it resembles the golden chachihoko of Nagoya Castle. Needless to say, after that, I forgot my original purpose and ordered extra rice and cabbage.
