On a holiday morning, we visited this place with our family. The location is on the first floor of the Soto-Fresain in Kanemachi. It's about 100 meters away on the left side of the Kanemachi Station South Gate Rotary, following the Piankin-chou Station Building Street.
I stayed at the hotel last night, so I will enjoy the breakfast offered there. The breakfast is limited to guests staying at the hotel. If I book a plan with breakfast included, the cost of breakfast would be approximately 990 yen.
This is operated by Rohs Mission Co., Ltd., which owns brands such as Shibu Shibu Mienbi and other related products. This brand is located in Kinzai-cho. It is a Japanese-style restaurant that primarily serves lunch and dinner.
I arrived just before 6:30, when the restaurant was already open.
Since no one is coming out, I move through the hallway into the interior of the restaurant. When I reach the floor, I receive a greeting from the staff. It comes from the kitchen. As I walk towards the staff, they say, "Please choose either Japanese-style or Western-style meals." It's not a buffet; it's a set menu. I'm glad. I would like a Japanese-style meal. Then, they hand me a numbered ticket and say, "Please wait at your seat."
As I sat down, I looked around and noticed a vending machine with drinks. Additionally, natto, seasoned seaweed, and miso were provided for free. I ordered hot coffee and oolong tea to sit by my seat. While drinking my drink, I waited. However, this coffee was not satisfactory—it wasn’t hot at all, and its taste was weak.
In 6 to 7 minutes, the waiter called my name. When I went to pick up my order, I got a magnificent salmon dish as the main course for the Japanese-style meal. However, in the subsequent Japanese-style meals, salmon was replaced by salt-baked saffron as the main course. As someone who prefers salmon for breakfast, this is fine. But I wonder if the main course will be changed during the meal?
The staff who handle one-time orders guided me to the area where the serving is done. Huh! Is it possible to do both serving and unloading at the same counter? It's just a matter of personal preference, but it would be better if we took some consideration into that aspect.
Please return to your seat. From the description, it seems that they are preparing the main dish to be warmed up, as well as rice and miso soup.
First, the miso soup. Oh, this is delicious. The ingredients include onions and oil-fried vegetables. The onions are quite soft. The rice is just average. The salmon has a rich, fatty taste and is of a large size. It was satisfying to eat. As for the side dishes, they seem like this. As for the dessert—a mini chocolate cake? I don’t need it.
Umm, something seems lacking. I think it's an overall impression. Something that fits the beginning of the morning. It's probably like that staff cafeteria-style service, where dishes are brought out and placed on the table.
