Kyoto’s sake distillery town, at the Karamatsu-dori shopping street in Fushimi Taosan. Kaishodō.
What a wonderful place! It has a brewery, and it's a great spot to compare different craft beers. The atmosphere around the taste of the beers is also absolutely outstanding!
As it was originally a tea house, they offer not only beer but also tea menus that you can brew yourself. Last year, I visited and enjoyed the tea there.
I can't drink beer, so I can't compare different beers. It's a pity.
I found a menu item on the lunch menu that read "Calvonaard" – a dish made from beef sirloin cooked in craft beer. I couldn't wait to try it, so I went inside and ordered it.

● The items ordered
Calbonard: 1600円
A stew cooked with beef and seasonal vegetables, simmered in craft beer.
This dish comes with pickles and a bucket.
There is a faint taste of beer in this dish.
Anyway, there's a lot of large pieces of meat in here. They're tender and juicy, and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant!
We placed large pieces of meat in the bucket and ate them.
This was a luxurious dish.
It was delicious.
This restaurant is very popular among foreign tourists, so it's common for the seating areas to be crowded. There is a craft beer server right in front of the counter seats, and the staff are very busy. Therefore, it might be a bit difficult to enjoy the atmosphere quietly.
It was delicious! Thank you very much for the hospitality!
