My first visit to the "Mikoshiya Yokohama Branch" located 8 minutes away from Yokohama Station! It's a bit of a walk from the station, but for that reason, it has a calm atmosphere and feels like a cozy hideaway. The interior is clean and tidy, with plenty of vitality, making it extremely comfortable to be there. This time, I visited the place with a friend for dinner. I think it's a versatile place that can be used for dates, girls' gatherings, or just for casual drinks.
First of all, what surprised me was the “free extra” portion of Bagna Cauda! Usually, the serving is usually finished quickly, but here you can enjoy as much fresh vegetables and the rich Bagna Cauda sauce as you want. It’s really generous! Since I can eat a lot of vegetables, it’s great because I don’t have to feel guilty about eating too much. That’s one of the positive points.
Next is “Crispy Bacon Caesar Salad”. The crispy texture of the bacon was more than expected; its buttery flavor and saltiness complemented perfectly with the dressing. It’s a dish that can be eaten continuously, almost like dipping sauce.
And what impressed me the most was the “Local Chicken and Bonito Washi Yaki Egg Roll with Tempura!”! The fluffy egg roll is filled with the rich flavors of local chicken and bonito, making the aroma of the broth come through strongly with each bite. The saltiness from the tempura adds an extra touch, creating an perfect balance. It’s a authentic-style egg roll that fits well with the “broth-based” menu without being too sweet. Just this dish alone is enough to make white rice worth eating!
“大人のカニクリームコロッケ”は、衣がサクサクとしていて、中はとろんと濃厚で、カニの風味がしっかりと感じられます。名前の通り、甘すぎず上品な味わいで、洋食屋さんで食べるのにふさわしい完成度でした。
Next is “自家製柴漬けタルタルソースの大山鶏南蛮”. This tartar is truly unique! The sourness of the柴漬け and its crisp texture perfectly complement the tartar, making it a delight. The fried chicken southman is so delicious that you can eat it endlessly. The balance between the sweet vinegar and this dish is outstanding. It was one of the most impressive dishes I tried this time!
“土鍋ご飯海鮮五目(エビ・帆立入り)”は、蓋を開ける瞬間、湯気と共に立ち上る出汁の香りが最高です。エビと帆立がたっぷり入っており、贅沢そのものです!ご飯はふっくらとしており、ほんのり甘く、噛むほどに旨みが広がります。〆にぴったりというよりは、メイン料理としても十分満足できます。
“九州名物胡麻カンパチ”は、新鮮なカンパチに甘みのある胡麻ダレがよく絡み合い、刺身でありながら何かご飯を欲しくなる味です。ねっとりとした食感と胡麻の香りが特徴で、非常に魅力的な一品です。
The desserts are "matcha ice cream" and "warabi cookies". The matcha ice cream has a rich taste, yet it leaves a refreshing aftertaste, offering a sophisticated flavor. The warabi cookies are soft and fluffy, with a rich aroma of kana powder. I'm truly impressed by the high quality of these desserts, which strive to be perfect from start to finish!
Throughout the entire experience, I felt that "the quality of each dish was exceptionally high, and the portion was also sufficient, resulting in an incredible level of satisfaction." Moreover, the balance between "classic dishes" and "creative creations" was perfectly struck. From beginning to end, I enjoyed eating these dishes with great excitement. In particular, egg rolls, chicken miso dishes, and clay pot rice are definitely must-try items!
The staff were also very polite, and the timing of serving the dishes was excellent. It seemed like they paid great attention to details. It's no surprise that this is a popular restaurant. If you're looking for delicious Japanese cuisine or creative dishes in Yokohama, this place is definitely a recommended choice!
