We booked a dinner date at the Yashiro Ushigoro Umeda restaurant, located on the 3rd floor of "Uemita Green Place" right next to Osaka Station. The access is excellent; it's just a few minutes' walk from JR Osaka Station and Meida Subway Station. It's very convenient to visit after work or during leisure time, and this convenience was truly appreciated.
The interior of the restaurant is characterized by its attention to lighting and design, creating a modern yet calming atmosphere. Despite being modern, there’s a sense of warmth that makes it an ideal place for relaxing without feeling tense. There are also table seats, as well as semi-private rooms (capable of accommodating up to 8 people), making it suitable for dining with a sense of privacy.
This restaurant’s selling point, "only using top-quality A5-rank black beef," is not a lie. The quality of the meat is indeed excellent. Especially noteworthy are the menu items exclusive to the Megata branch, which are luxurious and immediately boost expectations upon seeing the menu. For example, dishes like "crab with raw kumisand and beef rolls topped with caviar," or "top-quality steak with a 'beef block'," showcase a menu that is perfect for special occasions.
We first ordered a menu for three people. The course started with appetizers like namul, seasonal salads, and a variety of cuts of beef that could be enjoyed in moderation. Each cut was cooked to the perfect degree, with proper handling of the meat, just the right amount of fat, and a balanced flavor. It truly lived up to the reputation of A5 beef. Especially the thick-cut haraami or black tongue, where the texture and flavor of the meat were truly satisfying. According to some reviews, the staff ensured that each cut was cooked in the best possible manner, and the sauce was carefully prepared according to the type of meat. “All the cuts were delicious, and the portion size was just right for people around 50 years old.”
What impressed me was that the staff took care of roasting the meat themselves. Since I didn’t have to do it myself, I could enjoy my meal without worrying about the degree of roasting. When it comes to grilled meat, there’s often a situation where one person is responsible for roasting the meat while another stays behind to handle other tasks. But here, that hassle was completely absent, allowing me to focus fully on my meal. This place is definitely ideal for women’s gatherings, business dinners, or other social events.
Additionally, the portion size of the dishes was just right. Even if three people order a small amount of alcohol, the cost per person for the meal is around 10,000 to 12,000 yen. Regarding cost-effectiveness, some reviews suggest that it’s "average to somewhat satisfactory," but considering the quality of the meat, service, and overall atmosphere, it seems like "for this price, it’s acceptable."
However, there were also opinions expressing interest in improving the “cost-performance ratio” and making the “tare flavor” more pronounced. Some people said that they would be happy if there was a bit more punch or depth to the taste. We, too, expected a more intense flavor and a “powerful meat taste.” So, I can somewhat understand those feelings.
Overall, Yakisoburo Ushigoro Kyoto-kan is a perfect place for nights where one wants to savor top-quality beef without strain, for evenings spent in a beautiful atmosphere enjoying conversations and delicious food. It’s ideal for special occasions or days when one wants to indulge a bit. Since the restaurant has just opened, it maintains a clean and fresh feel. The service and customer experience were also highly satisfactory. Therefore, I believe this is a restaurant worth visiting again to try other menu items or courses.
