At this restaurant, people I worked with in Sendai have invited me for a business trip.
The project in which I was involved in the launch successfully reached a significant milestone. That's why we held a report meeting. We gathered all relevant parties, rented a large room for the meeting, and projected PowerPoint on a huge screen. It was much bigger than usual. Really impressive.
資料の作成や、当日の受付、お客様対応など……当日は昼前から夕方まで気を緩める時間が全くなくて大変でしたが、ようやくここまで来たという安堵感と達成感、そして喜びがありました。
Of course?! After the report meeting, there was a get-together called an "opinion exchange meeting". Finally, I finished my work-related tasks, and I felt relieved knowing that all the colleagues in the company were together.
And so, for this business trip, the Sendai team had sent a message in advance saying, "We'll provide accommodation here, so don't worry." It was meant for me and my boss from the Kanto team.
I completely relied on your kindness and left everything in your hands. After the get-together, I was told about the hotel, and I was absolutely shocked! It turned out to be the Hotel Metropolitan Sendai East.
“メトロポリタンなんて、出張で泊まれるわけがありませんよ。というのも、うちの会社の旅費規程では予算を超えてしまいますから。正確に言うと、宿泊することは可能ですが、規定以上の費用を自己負担するのは望まないし、そこまでして宿泊したいとも思いません。”
By the way, my regular accommodation in Sendai is usually either A〇ホテル or Do〇ーイン. It's a place with a hot bath area, offering a simple overnight stay plan. That's how I usually travel for business.
That's right, this time it's the Hotel Metropolitana Sendai East, and it comes with breakfast. According to what I heard later, the department manager managed to get some favors from the head of the department. Thank goodness!
The room has a pleasant atmosphere; it’s about one-third larger than most business hotels. Moreover, the bathroom and toilet are separate.
The view of the east exit of Sendai Station is also really beautiful. The bed was comfortable, and I slept soundly.
I got up in the morning, applied a little BB cream (because I don't have the courage to show myself in front of others with a bare face: sweat), and headed for the much-anticipated breakfast♪
There is a restaurant on the 3F of the hotel.
The ceiling is high, giving a sense of openness. There are also quite a number of seats available.
It’s not the kind of breakfast that one typically enjoys in a business hotel, where one feels like they’re being watched by others while rushing to finish eating their food. It was a comfortable place where one could relax completely, almost forgetting about time.
There are also a variety of vegetables available. The way they describe them isn't right; it should be something like "Chopped Salad from Miyagi Prefecture."
And also “Mie Prefecture vegetable banya kouda”… just reading that makes me really excited, isn’t it? (Laughs)
The lettuce and peppers have a crisp texture, while the tomatoes and cucumbers are fresh and juicy. They use good-quality ingredients.
I usually prefer bread in the morning. My choices include French bread, cheese bread, focaccia, mini bread with butter (that too is a bit fancy!), and croissant. There are quite a few different types of bread I enjoy.
A little further away, there are also French toast and waffles available.
The cheese bread has a wonderful aroma. The focaccia is moist, and the crostata is crispy on the outside. Inside, there’s a rich butter aroma. And the French toast… every time you bite into it, you can feel its creamy texture. It’s a luxurious and elegant taste.
Each of them is at a level where they can be sold individually at bakeries.
There are various side dishes available. Even for just one egg, there are scrambled eggs, omelets, and other options. In addition, there are bacon gravy, roast beef, sausage, grilled salmon, and more.
It seems that they definitely use high-quality ingredients. Even when eating the menu items commonly found in business hotels' breakfast buffets, the taste is of a higher quality.

Of course, there are also many Japanese ingredients used in the menu. The rice is said to be "Hitomemoire," which comes from Miyagi Prefecture.
There were also curry and soup made with beef teriyaki.
A buffet-style service can be quite daunting, isn’t it? People tend to eat too much when they have it available.
Since morning, my stomach has been full to the brim.
ふぅ、仕事へのモチベーションが少しは上がったよ! ごちそうさまでした。
