The café "Onomatope" located in the residential area of Suwa no Mori.
This restaurant has a theme of the Taisho period. Antique furniture and sculptures such as phonographs are displayed, reflecting Japan during the period when Western culture was gradually being incorporated into Japanese society. The seating options include tables, sofas, and private rooms.
※ 개인적으로는 소파석은 조금 식사하기에 불편했습니다. 웃기네요.
The cuisine is mainly Italian. When this restaurant first opened, it only served cafes. However, the staff from "Italian Danji" joined in, and then lunch and dinner services were introduced. (By the way, that "cultural treasure" is now operated by "JUNE COFFEE.")
As the main menu,
Appetizers including a variety of dishes, MATOPE with pasta, risotto, and soup; GION with main dishes added; NOUSTA with pasta, fish, meat, and risotto.
This time, I have chosen MATOPE for ¥1,800-.

・Today's Pasta or Pizza or Risotto
The side dishes were beautifully arranged with various colors of appetizers: a carp calzone served with kombu, and a carrot gravy. While the ham and the carp calzone were also delicious, the carrot gravy, which is often considered a classic accompaniment to Western dishes, had a sweet taste and carried a subtle butter aroma that I really enjoyed.
Pasta (around 4 varieties) or pizza (around 3 varieties)? Or risotto? I'm glad there are so many choices. Each dish is available on a monthly basis. This time, I ordered the "Clam and Lily Root Cream Sauce with Yuzu Fragrance."
This pasta was delicious, and the generous amount of basil did a great job.
The creamy-flavored bulb with a warm texture has a sweet taste, and it also has a slightly melted and creamy consistency.
I haven’t really eaten百合根 with pasta very often, but personally, I found the excellent compatibility between the pasta sauce and the百合根 to be a great discovery.
It has the aroma of yuzu, and the cream sauce is well-balanced in taste. It's refreshing and satisfying to eat over multiple servings. There are also many finely chopped scallops included, providing plenty of umami flavor.
For those who want to eat until they feel full, the amount served will be a little smaller.
This is an ideal place to enjoy a leisurely lunchtime.
Actually, the restrooms are also spacious and clean, which is another great point.
In a retro and nostalgic atmosphere
I was able to enjoy a sense of non-traditionality.
Actually, in Sakai, it's quite rare to have an afternoon tea or something similar during coffee time.
It's necessary to make a reservation, but I really want to go there again.
Thank you for your hospitality.

Today, we visit "Café Onomatope", a café that opened in November this year in Suwa no Mori. It offers a unique experience of Taisho Romanticism.
The interior of the restaurant is designed to evoke the image of the good old Taisho era. It is a space filled with antique furniture. Statues such as black telephones and bell rings also reflect the Taisho era's style.
The rest is that the staff members were wearing uniforms...
However, the toilets and trash bins are of the latest type.
The dessert menu is also retro.
The pound cake is filled with dried fruits such as anzacia, dorentcherry, orange peel, and raisin. It evokes a nostalgic feeling that is rarely seen these days. It was delicious!
Other desserts also seem interesting, don't they?
The recommended drink is tea!
This tea is made using the tea leaves from the traditional restaurant, Mujicati. There are seven different varieties available. It is served in pots, allowing you to enjoy it at your own pace!
Each seat is spacious, which definitely contributes to a relaxed atmosphere during tea time!
With a cake set, drinks and cakes are available for just -150 yen. So this is highly recommended for coffee time.
In a little while, lunch will also begin!
Again, I’m bothering you.
